Anonymous Usage Tracking

Usage tracking helps inform future features and improvements. We appreciate anyone willing to share this anonymous data with us. You can enable this setting under Ad Commander -> Settings -> Admin -> Miscellaneous. Data is sent when you opt in, and once per week thereafter.

Anonymous usage tracking setting

Is it really anonymous?

Yes. Data is identified by a completely random string — not a hash of your URL, IP, or other information.

Examples of data we *don’t* collect:

  • Specifics about your ads (titles, URLs, images, code)
  • Your site title
  • Your URL
  • Your IP address (may appear in server logs and a hashed version is used for rate limiting, but your IP is not associated with data on our usage server)
  • Your email address
  • License keys
  • Account IDs (Google Analytics, AdSense, MaxMind)
  • Values of your targeting rules
  • List of installed plugins
  • Information about your site’s visitors

Data we *do* collect:

Identification

  • A random, anonymous site identifier (UUID) — generated by the plugin, not derived from your site URL, license, or any other site data
  • The date and time the report was generated

Ad Commander plugins

  • Ad Commander version and database version
  • Ad Commander Pro: whether it is installed, whether it is active, its version, and whether a license is active (yes/no only)
  • Ad Commander Tools: whether it is installed, whether it is active, and its version

Website environment

  • WordPress version, locale (language setting), and whether the site is a multisite
  • Whether WP-Cron is enabled
  • WordPress and PHP memory limits
  • PHP version and whether cURL is available
  • Database system (MySQL/MariaDB) and version
  • Active theme name and version

Other plugins

  • The number of active plugins (never the plugin list itself)
  • Whether WooCommerce is active
  • Whether the AMP plugin is active

Ad Commander content (counts only)

  • Number of published ads, and how many of each ad type (banner, rich content, AdSense, etc.)
  • Number of ads created through WooCommerce customer purchases
  • Number of groups, campaigns, and brands
  • Number of published inserts, and how many use each position (e.g. within content, popup, sticky)

Targeting (counts only)

  • How many content targeting rules are in use, per target type (e.g. post type, category)
  • How many visitor targeting rules are in use, per target type (e.g. device, geolocation)
  • The values of targeting rules are never included — only which types are used and how many

Feature settings
